The Strategic Mapping Program (StratMap) produces, maintains, and enhances statewide digital geographic data themes in partnership with geographic information systems (GIS) professionals from public and private organizations.

  • Seek matching funds to develop statewide data using a volume purchasing advantage
  • Continuously refine and improve the accuracy and usefulness of data to a diverse user community
  • Promote the use of standards to produce data that can serve multiple needs

Urban & Local County Benefits

Maintain current aerial imagery and road networks used by intelligent location services. Leverages federal funds to build high resolution maps for ETJs and surrounding cities.

Rural & Local County Benefits

Maintain base data for managing services, establishing growth and development policies, helping agricultural and energy interests with land and resource management.
