New Imagery Available for West and South Texas Border Region
High resolution aerial imagery are now available for the Lower Rio Grande Valley (LRGV) and portions along the Texas/Mexico border. The imagery acquisition was initiated by the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) and expanded to include nine (9) local LRGV cooperating partners: Brownsville Public Utilities Board, Hidalgo County Appraisal District, Laguna Madre Water District, and the Cities of Alton, Edinburg, McAllen, Pharr, Port Isabel, and San Benito. New Lidar Now Available for the Central Texas Region
Additional newly acquired high resolution lidar data collected by Merrick & Company is now available and covers portions of Blanco, Caldwell, DeWitt, Gonzales, Kendall and Kerr Counties in central Texas. Aerial collection took place from January to March 2011 during the leaf-off season. URS provided third-party quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC). The data were funded by the Floodplain Mapping Group in tandem with the Strategic Mapping Program (StratMap) and were procured through the Council on Competitive Government’s High Priority Imagery and Datasets (HPIDS) contract.
New Lidar Now Available for North Central Texas Region
The Texas Natural Resources Information System is pleased to announce the release of newly acquired high resolution lidar data for the Upper Trinity River Basin covering portions of Denton, Collin, Cooke, Grayson and Kaufman Counties in north Texas. Aerial collection took place from January to March 2011 during the leaf-off season. Merrick & Company performed data acquisition/processing with URS providing third-party quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).

TNRIS was established by the Legislature in 1968 as the Texas Water-Oriented Data Bank. In 1972, after four years of growth and diversification, it was renamed the Texas Natural Resources Information System.
